Both Gila Ridge singles players advanced at the 5A-II State Tennis Tournament although the Hawks' doubles teams were eliminated Friday in Phoenix.
Charlie Fiddler defeated Barry Goldwater's Sam Biak 6-4, 6-1 and Dylan Freeman beat Kofa's Santos Rangel 6-2, 6-2 to move on to the second round scheduled for today.
San Luis' doubles team of Eric Rodriguez and Max Pinnow got a 6-1, 6-0 win over their opponents from Tolleson.
