Electronics show touts social trends

Every year I anxiously await the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Whenever I am unable to attend, I voraciously read every review and article about the latest and greatest technology. During the digital revolution we are in, we are seeing the television and computer evolve into one “smart TV.” With new products like the Samsung Smart Window, we are able to have the “Minority Report” experience with a see-through touch screen.

What is most memorable about this year is it is the most social trade show yet. Consumers now want their experience with technology to be social, and most of the products presented this year at CES had an emphasis on social media and connectivity. The days that businesses wonder whether or not its site should contain social components should be behind us. The new question is how to implement social technologies effectively. Often chatter on Facebook and Twitter can get consumers more excited than traditional marketing ever would.

Creating the social experience is no longer a trend for businesses; it is a reality in order to stay relevant.
