Christmas – Love's shining light
The group had gathered for their 50th class reunion.
After dinner, the master of ceremonies suggested participating in a guessing game. Graduates of 50 years would stand until they were identified by name.
The game progressed. It was challenging. Years had changed them. Recognition of some was more difficult.
One reserved man had experienced significant changes from ill health and age. As the minutes ticked by, it became embarrassing. No one could identify him.
Finally the unidentified man expressed he would help them with a clue. He said to the puzzled group, “My son drove me here tonight. He's out in the lobby. When you see him, you may recognize me.”
The son entered and sat at his father's side. People immediately called out the unidentified participant's name.
This story is Christmas.
God became recognizable and current when Jesus, his son, was born. The “Ancient of Days” was made flesh on planet Earth. God was on display.
God is love.
