Exercise may carry hidden benefit for guys

Spend a lot of time in front of the television?

You may pay a bigger price than just gaining a few pounds. According to a USA Today article, researchers have found that those who are sedentary have a lower sperm count.

Guys who exercise more were found to have higher sperm counts.

In fact, those who watched more than 20 hours of TV a week had sperm counts that were 44 percent lower than those who watched no television during the week.

The study was small, and researchers weren't certain if the decline was enough to impact fertility.

But the whole concept behind evolution is a favoring of traits that, in the long term, benefit the species. Could it be that we are slowly starting to weed out whatever it is – a gene? - that leads some to be sedentary?

I am by no means a scientist, but I find the whole thing to be fascinating.
