YC wrestlers fifth at regionals

Yuma Catholic qualified two into the 1A/2A State Wrestling Tournament at Saturday's regional at Camp Verde.

The Shamrocks' 215-pounder Nick Waterford finished second and teammate Russ Seh took fourth.

The top four individuals from each of the 14 weight classes advance to state.

YC placed fifth as a team. Senior Alyosha Sandigo was unable to wrestle due to a back injury suffered at the Mingus tournament. He entered the season as the top-ranked wrestler at 152, after finishing second at state in 2007-08.
