Rams qualify 3 singles, 3 doubles for state

Antelope qualified four of its six girls varsity players and five of the six boys for next week's state tournaments on Saturday in its 2A Regional at Estrella Foothills. The top four placers qualify for state.
 
Diana Bravo beat teammate Andie Guerrero 6-4, 7-5 to win the singles final, and Briana Prestion and Diana De La Cruz lost 6-0, 7-5 to a team from Superior in the doubles final.
 
On the boys side, Sergio Perez placed third in singles, beating a player from Estrella Foothills 6-2, 7-4. In doubles, Jesus Leon and Aaron Skousen lost to Estrella Foothills 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 in the finals, and Jose Montoya  and Chente Filerio beat an Estrella Foothills team 6-4, 6- 4 for third place.
 
The 2A Singles and Doubles State Tournaments are Friday and Saturday at the Phoenix Tennis Center. The Rams' girls team is still in the team competition as well and will play
at Pheonix-Country Day on May 12.
