Opposing side missing in story
Come on, Yuma Sun, you can do better than that. Two reporters authored the front page story on the state health care forum showing an obviously uninformed protester holding the "Obama Care - MAKE GRANDMA SHOVEL-READY" sign (“Protester says cost too high," Aug. 16).
You would think that with two reporters on this story there would have been at least a second person's opinion to counter those of the protester, especially when it was obvious that the statements of the person interviewed were totally politically motivated.
Actually, the reform bill allows persons to seek advice from their health care providers on options available to those nearing maximum life expectancy, such as the availability of hospice or advice on preparing a living will, etc. Under the health care reform, this visit would be paid for and strictly voluntary.
I suppose our freedom of speech is worth tolerating having to look at Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin type of signs such as I class the statement on this sign.
However, I cannot believe that there was not one other opposing opinion or sign to include in the Yuma Sun article.
