8th Street-Avenue A

From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, the traffic signal at 8th Street and Avenue A will be turned off, and Avenue A will be closed on both sides of 8th Street. 8th Street east-west traffic will flow uninterrupted, while Avenue A traffic will detour accordingly.

City of Yuma fog seal

City of Yuma Street Maintenance crews continue applying fog seal in the upcoming week. Work will take place in Parkway Place subdivision and on 25th Street from 19th Avenue to 21st Drive.

Avenue 3E Bridge

Backups and delays are being reported in the vicinity of ADOT's Avenue 3E bridge expansion project, between Interstate 8 and 24th Street.

A contractor working for ADOT is improving and widening the Avenue 3E Bridge located between Gila Ridge Road and 24th Street in Yuma. The project is a cooperative effort between ADOT and the city of Yuma and is scheduled for completion in summer 2013.

The project includes widening the bridge over the railroad tracks from two to six lanes with a center median, new pavement and pedestrian walkways. Two-way traffic is expected to be maintained during expansion of the bridge, which will be built to include three lanes each direction when complete. There will be some speed limit reductions during this project.

24th Street, James to Kennedy

Century Link will install conduit, cable and equipment along the south side of 24th Street between Arizona Avenue and Kennedy Lane. The right eastbound lane of 24th Street will be closed from the approach to James Drive until just beyond James Avenue for about 10 days, with work expected to wrap by the end of November. Work will then continue down James Avenue to 26th Place.

30th Street, east of 21st Drive

Century Link will install conduit, cable and equipment along and underneath 30th Street in several locations east of 21st Drive. This 30-day project is expected to be complete in December.
