Maple Avenue at 16th Street

Beginning as soon as Jan. 7, a contractor working for the city will be modifying the “porkchop” median on Maple Avenue at 16th Street to incorporate a design and features more friendly to large trucks. The far-right eastbound lane of 16th Street will be closed, resulting in likely backups during peak hours. Maple will be closed at 16th Street in both directions. Maple traffic should detour using 1st Avenue and 16th Place.



Avenue A, 8th Street to 16th Street

The contractor working on the city's Avenue A reconstruction project is working in the vicinity of 12th Street. Avenue A will be closed completely closed at this intersection.

Traffic is currently open between 8th Street and 11th Street. Crews will return to partially finished areas later in the project to lay a final course that raises Avenue A to grade level with intersecting side streets.



Palo Verde Street at Pacific Ave. – Century Link

Century Link has scheduled work to take place in the intersection of Palo Verde and Pacific Avenue between Dec. 27 and Jan. 4. Lane restrictions will be in effect between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on work days.


32nd Street at 4th Avenue – Century Link

Eastbound 32nd Street will be reduced to one lane at 4th Avenue Extension between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. between now and Dec. 28 for Century Link work in the existing manhole.

30th Street between 18th Avenue and 21st Drive

30th Street is closed between 21st Drive and 18th Avenue, or between the Main Library and La Posada apartments. Traffic flowing to and from La Posada apartments will need to enter the complex using 18th Avenue, detouring by using 27th Street between 21st Drive and 18th Avenue. Traffic to and from the Yuma County Main Library will need to use 21st Drive for all access. The closure, expected to last 2 weeks, will be due to groundwater removal work and tubing crossing the street.
