Avenue 3E Bridge, Gila Ridge Road to 24th Street

A contractor working for ADOT is improving and widening the Avenue 3E Bridge located between Gila Ridge Road and 24th Street in Yuma. The project is a cooperative effort between ADOT and the City of Yuma and is scheduled for completion in summer 2013.

The project includes widening the bridge over the railroad tracks from two to six lanes with a center median, new pavement, and pedestrian walkways. Two-way traffic is expected to be maintained during expansion of the bridge, which will be built to include three lanes each direction when complete. There will be some speed limit reductions during this project.

An upcoming late-night closure is anticipated in early February in order to move barriers. When ADOT releases final information on this, the City will include the date(s) and times in a future edition of this report.
