Nature and Wildlife Photo contest
It's too bad there can be only one No. 1.
That's because a panel of judges had many well-composed and colorful nature and wildlife photographs to choose from in the Southwest Living photo contest.
The winner is Nisa Bottone Sutton of Yuma, who submitted the accompanying photo of a butterfly that found a perch on the nose of a surprised human.
Dozens of Yuma-area residents responded to Southwest Living's call for photos, submitting a total of 100 entries with subjects ranging from vivid sunsets and storm clouds, to wild birds and wildlife, to blooming plants and flowers.
Rounding out the top 10 entries, as selected by judges, were photos submitted by Monica Bryant, Ty Cook, Shawn Devoe, Gene Doten, John Kulberg, Richard Latterell, Nancy Matheson and Carolyn Valley.
Congratulations to all participants in the contest. You have demonstrated your talents as nature photographers.
