Teachers and guns not a great idea

People of earth….

You have all finally lost what little mind you carbon-based life-forms had….

Is it not enough that many of you walk around now, carrying instruments of destruction, under the guise of concealed carry permits and open carry laws?

Yes, gun violence is a tragedy regardless if there is one or a hundred and one, male or female, adult or child, young or old, person(s) killed.

Any violence that recklessly/collaterally takes a life is in and of itself a tragedy, regardless of the tool (weapon) used.

Let us observe Yuma, Ariz., specifically…where you have the choice of concealed carry or open carry, the day will come when inevitably we'll have a real-life re-enactment of the movie “The Quick and The Dead” take place on some random Yuma street (Time optional).

Remember Congresswoman Gifford's ordeal…there was someone, from child to adult, killed in that tragedy; the weapon of choice: hand guns. (Brand optional).

The point is the weapon of choice does not matter, but to consider allowing guns into the school environment under the guise of a “trained teacher” would be positioning yourselves for a live re-enactment of “Gunfight at the OK Corral” with your kids as extras on the set!

Has anyone given thought to the legal ramifications of this ludicrous idea?

What will you say when Joe or Jane teacher decides to get on the idiot wagon and starts shooting, at, hmm, the students or each other?

Or how about this instead: find a way to raise the money to place more police officers on the city payroll, with a unit specifically for school assignments, thereby reducing the likelihood that someone waltzing inside off the street will shoot up the joint.

You do, and can, trust a duly sworn officer of the law, right?
