Bike riding while texting?

Most of us are familiar with the term DWI (driving while intoxicated). Well, we could soon have a new abbreviation - TXW (texting while walking).

It was recently reported that health care providers have been seeing an increasing number of injuries related to texting while walking. Basically, people are so absorbed in texting on their cell phones that they trip and fall down or walk into light poles.

Well, a young person I saw while driving in Yuma the other day took it to the next level.

He was texting while riding a bicycle. That's right, he was weaving around trying to keep his balance while riding down the sidewalk and using both hands to text on his phone. Oh, he wasn't looking where he was going either.

I suppose it isn't as dangerous as texting while driving a car, but it is still tempting fate.
