Working together can make better place for all

Thank you for saying something positive about our newly re-elected president (“Inauguration a reminder that we live in time of diversity,” Jan. 26). If more people tried to look for the good and focus less on the negative judgments, fear-mongering and ranting, we would definitely be better off as a country.

In one lifetime, we've come a long way from the ride-in-the-back-of-the-bus era.

And many people do believe that by working together, we can make a better place for all of us.

This kind of sentiment does not keep listeners hooked into those talk radio shows where everyone yells abusive terms or encourage the buying of guns out of fear. But it just may be the way out of some of our challenges. I'll keep working toward that end.
