Best Travel Agency: Tour West Travel

Tour West Travel may get clients who want to go some place on some sort of travel adventure, but aren't sure where or what exactly they'll do when they get there.

It might sound like they're lost already, but they aren't if their first step is going to Tour West Travel.

It becomes the Yuma travel agency's task to help would-be-wanderers identify and choose among the options on the way to arriving at a destination spot, says Leslie McClendon, Tour West's general manager.

Are the clients wanting to travel to take in history, art or culture? If it's history, what era and what country? If it's art or culture, what in particular?

Are the clients traveling for recreation? If so, will it be outdoor recreation or something else?

Or do they merely want to bask in the sun on a beach, or do they want to take a cruise?

Once the clients answer the initial questions for themselves, the rest of the decisions fall into place, said McClendon

“You're just narrowing it down and all of a sudden, it happens,” says McClendon.

Other clients know exactly where they want to go and what they want to do, and Tour West can help them make their travel arrangements as well.

“You bring in your dream idea, and we make it happen,” said McClendon.

Tour West, which has been in business in Yuma for about two decades, has been picked by participants in Yuma's Best, an annual poll by the Yuma Sun of readers' favorite businesses and services, as the area's Best Travel Agency in 2010.

Tour West, said McClendon, is a full-service travel agency, meaning it can arrange cruises and vacations to any place domestically or internationally, assuming no travel restrictions have been put in place by a government.

Once clients have decided on a vacation spot, Tour West doesn't stop there, McClendon said. If they're planning to travel to Europe or the Middle East, for example, the agency books them with a reputable tour operator, helps them secure travel visas, get necessary vaccinations and fulfill any other travel requirements.

“Anywhere you want to go, we can probably get you there.”
