LOANED PHOTO/RURAL-METRO FIRE
A trailer of hay, attached to a semi truck, caught fire near milepost 22 at about 12:20 p.m. The Arizona Department of Transportation closed eastbound I-8 between mileposts 14 and 29 for investigation and cleanup, and motorists are being detoured through Dome Valley to Wellton. Rural Metro was on scene to put out the fire and continue cleanup of hot spots late this afternoon.

A hay truck fire forced the closure of a section of Interstate 8 east of Yuma Monday.
A trailer of hay attached to a semi truck caught fire near milepost 22 at about 12:20 p.m. The Arizona Department of Transportation closed eastbound I-8 between mileposts 14 and 29 for investigation and cleanup, said Officer Carrick Cook of the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Motorists were detoured through Dome Valley to Wellton for several hours Monday afternoon.
No other vehicles were involved, and there were no reported injuries.
