Woman injured in single-vehicle rollover accident
Firefighters and paramedics from the San Luis Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident Monday that required the driver to be extricated through the front windshield.
Luis Cebreros, public information officer for the San Luis Fire Department, said that on Monday evening, the San Luis Fire Department responded to the area of County 21st Street and Avenue B for the report of the single-vehicle rollover.
Upon their arrival, firefighters and paramedics found a single vehicle that was on its side, off the road with the 23-year-old female driver still inside.
Cebreros said that according to witnesses, during an attempt to pass another car on the left side, the driver lost control of her vehicle and struck an electrical pole, which caused the vehicle to spin and tip over.
“It just rolled the one time. She hit the pole and the car spun and tipped over,” Cebreros said. “She caught the dirt, lost control and overcorrected.”
The female driver, who was still wearing her seat belt, had to be extricated from the vehicle by cutting out the front windshield.
She was then transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center by ambulance for minor cuts and bruises and back pain.
