Criminals swept in Havasu
Janeana Kosterlistzky had 12 kills, but the Yuma High volleyball team lost 25-19, 25-12, 25-16 to Lake Havasu on Thursday.
“They just didn’t quit tonight,” coach Tish Malone said. “From the comments we heard for the Lake Havasu fans and coaches, it was all about how much we’ve improved and how we really have something here. It might have not shown in the score, but we are really starting to get a lot of respect.”
Brittney Ramos had eight kills and 20 digs for the Criminals (0-3). Baylee Franklin had 11 blocks while Aleena Peralta added four.
Shamrocks roll again
A night after sweeping Salome in a doubleheader, the Yuma Catholic volleyball team won a single match against Tonopah at home Thursday, 25-21, 25-20, 25-18.
Amanda Milnick and Kalaina Barnett had 10 kills apiece, while Chelsea Mendenhall had 21 assists.
