Yuma's Best 2012: Romeo's Car Wash

You can take your vehicle to Romeo's Car Wash for an exterior wash, if that’s all you want. Or you can have your car cleaned inside and out.

You can have it detailed. You can have the windows tinted.

While your car is being cleaned, you can pass the time watching TV in the lounge. Or if the job takes longer, Romeo’s can drop you off at home, then come back to get you when the car is ready.

"Anything the customers want, we do," said Romeo Saco, owner of the business that has two sites in Yuma. "We’re there for their needs."

Voters in Yuma’s Best, the Yuma Sun’s reader poll, have selected Romeo’s Car Wash as the Best Car Wash in Yuma for 2012. In fact, this is the third consecutive time Romeo’s has won in that category.

What is the business doing right?

"We offer a clean operation and we’re honest," says Saco. "We offer good customer service — polite and honest."

The family-owned and -operated business, he added, makes use of soft cloth that is changed every two years. "We’re just a very clean, spotless operation."

And Saco brings experience to the business — 30 years’ worth.

He was in the car wash business in San Diego before moving to Yuma in 2005 to open the Romeo’s location at 2301 S. 4th Ave. The following year, he opened the second car wash at 170 W. 17th Place.

extensive they want their vehicle cleaning and detailing to be, said Saco. "It just depends on what the customer wants."

His business philosophy, he says, is to "be honest, do the job you get paid to do, be honest with the customers and treat them right."

The 4th Avenue car wash is open 8 to 6 p.m. seven days a week. It can be reached at 783-2227.

Customers can pay per wash, but Saco said frequent customers have the option of purchasing books of tickets that they can redeem for washes at a lower price. Romeo’s also offers gift certificates.
