Featured symposium artist: Kerry Vesper
Yuma Art Symposium: Feb. 21-23
Today's featured artist
Kerry Vesper will be presenting a retrospective on his artwork over the past 40 years for this year's symposium.
Inspiration comes from the forms one sees in nature and his medium is wood, which covers an array of pieces from bowls and chairs to tables and sculptures. He classifies all of his work as sculptures, whether they are functional or not.
Vesper currently lives in Scottsdale, Ariz., and served the Peace Corps in Kenya for two years. While he was obtaining his master's in social work, he developed an interest in woodcarving that would eventually lead to his transition into a full-time artist, presenting his work across the nation.
