The annual fall desert crops workshop will be held from 7:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 1 at the Brawley Events Center, 1562 Main St., Brawley.
Topics will include an update on E. coli and other pathogens of concern to leafy vegetable growers, vegetable insect management, using new technology for lettuce carton trace back, nematode sampling and management, nitrogen management, lettuce irrigation and melon diseases.

Applications have been made for four continuing education hours for Arizona and California.
Ag production workshop
An ag production and pest management workshop will be held from 7:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 10 at the Yuma Agriculture Center, 6425 W. 8th St. The workshop will conclude with lunch.
Topics will include pest management priorities, nitrogen needs in wheat following alfalfa, precision farming, irrigation management to conserve water, weather update, briefing on the Asian citrus psyllid, natural enemies of crop pests and Roundup Ready alfalfa update.
Applications have been made for three continuing education hours for Arizona and California.

Cotton pest losses workshop
A cotton pest losses workshop will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Yuma Agriculture Center, 6425 W. 8th St. The event will include lunch.
The event will include an update on lygus, whitefly and mite trial results; explanation of the cotton insect losses survey; individual completion of the questionnaires; 2008 cotton losses results; and summary of information.
