    Yuman charged with 10-year sexual abuse

    A Yuma man arrested Sunday allegedly had sexually abused a female victim since 1999, according to the Yuma Police Department.

    Jim Gaines, 51, was arrested at 7 p.m. Sunday. According to a YPD news release, he was booked into the Yuma County Adult Detention Facility on charges of continuous sexual abuse, sexual conduct with a minor and child molestation.

    Gaines made his initial appearance at Yuma Justice Court and is being held on no bond, according to the release.

    YPD encourages anyone with any information about the investigation to call Detective Miguel Sanchez at 373-4670 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous.
