Government offices, schools closed for holiday
Government offices, schools and banks in Yuma County will be closed Friday for Christmas.
All municipal, county, state and federal offices will be closed as well.
Municipal offices in Yuma, San Luis, Somerton and Wellton will also be closed Thursday.
County libraries in Yuma, the Foothills, San Luis, Somerton and Wellton will close at 5 p.m. Thursday, and reopen Saturday. The Roll Branch Library will be open today and Dec. 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular hours will resume on Jan. 4.
The Dateland Branch Library will be open Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular hours will resume on Jan. 4.
Area schools, Arizona Western College and Northern Arizona University Yuma are on holiday break.
City of Yuma solid waste customers with Monday and Thursday pick-up will be collected on Monday and Wednesday. Tuesday and Friday customers will be collected on Tuesday and Thursday. Normal service will resume on Monday, Jan 4.
The Yuma Sun offices will be closing at noon on Thursday and will remain closed on Friday, but will distribute a daily edition as usual.
