Bauerfinancial Inc. announces that Foothills Bank in Yuma again has earned its highest 5-Star Superior rating. Foothills Bank has earned this top 5-Star rating for 16 consecutive quarters for excellence in capital adequacy, delinquent loan levels and profitability.
That's commendable, considering that “a full 10 percent of the nation's banks are now on the FDIC's ‘problem' list and even are more on ours,” noted Karen L. Dorway, president of Bauerfinancial.
Foothills Bank was established in 1997 and has four offices in Yuma.
Bauerfinancial is the nation's leading independent bank and credit union rating and research firm. Consumers may obtain star-ratings by visiting www.bauerfinancial.com.

Ron Hayes and Paige Lineberry have joined forces to form a new company, North End Studios. While waiting on the paperwork, they're operating under Hayes' business name of Biscom at the location formerly occupied by Ingram Designs and Associates, which Lineberry had been working for.
Along with Ingram's former address of 71 W. 2nd St., the new company has the same phone number of 782-3844, or can be reached at idesignyuma@mac.com.
Hayes said he was awarded the contract to design and provide the photography for the Yuma Visitors Guide, which is published annually by the Yuma Visitors Bureau to help market the area. So he offered Lineberry, who had designed the guide for the past three years and also is a photographer, a partnership to produce the guide and go into business together.
In the meantime, Bob Ingram, longtime owner of Ingram Designs, is now working out of his home and can be reached at 920-4549. However, he said, he is “winding down” his business and just working on some projects for private clients.

Some say your hair is only as good as the weather will allow it to be. If you're in a humid area like Florida, you know exactly what this means.
Living proof blog took a look at a list compiled by the ladies at Total Beauty and another one by the Farmer's Almanac — each taking into account the amount of sunshine, heat, humidity, softness of water, lack of pollution and other factors - came up with a list of the best cities for your hair.
While hot, Yuma weighed in at No. 8 as a good hair city for its sunshine and lack of rainfall or humidity.
Others on the list included El Paso, Texas; Phoenix; Anchorage; Los Angeles; Las Vegas; San Francisco; Santa Barbara, Calif.; Honolulu; and in the No. 1 spot, San Diego, where the weather is always sunny and comfortable.
