Best Nursery Garden Supplier: Yuma Nursery Supply

Plants and grass are not all that go into an outdoor landscaping.

Whether area homeowners are cultivating vegetable gardens, planting Bermuda lawns or opting for xeriscaping, Yuma Nursery Supply can fill their needs.

The nursery offers, for example, decorative gravel and boulders, materials for retaining walls, flagstone for walkways, decorative bricks, PVC pipes and bubblers for drip irrigation, ponds and fountains.

Yuma Nursery Supply has “basically everything you need for outdoor living and outdoor landscaping,” said Pat Fox, the manager of the longtime Yuma business.

Located at 4405 S. Avenue A, it was picked as the area's Best Nursery Garden Supplier in 2010 in Yuma's Best, the Yuma Sun's polls of its readers' favorite businesses and services.

The business serves both residential and commercial customers and even some Yuma-area farmers, said Fox.

Besides supplying the materials and equipment needed to plant a garden, create a lawn or to pursue some other landscaping scheme, the nursery's 20 employees can offer customers good advice about how to get the job done, he said.

“We try to be knowledgeable, courteous and helpful to all customers — that's true with all the employees.”

Owned by the Haile family of Yuma, Yuma Nursery Supply has been in business in the area for 39 years, 31 of which have been at its current Avenue A location, Fox said.

Yuma Nursery Supply was also picked No. 1 in the Yuma's Best poll for 2009.
