UA New Faculty Tour dinner
The annual dinner as part of the University of Arizona College of Agriculture and Life Sciences New Faculty Tour will be held in Yuma on Wednesday at the Yuma Civic Center.
A reception will be at 6 p.m., followed by the dinner at 6:30 p.m. The event includes an opportunity for UA alumni and friends to meet new faculty members. Dinner is served by Yuma County 4-H members, with proceeds to benefit Yuma County 4-H programs.

Crops in Pots program
The Foothills Library, 13226 E. South Frontage Road, will host “Crops in Pots” at 10 a.m. Jan. 10. Stacy Bealmear, Yuma County Cooperative Extension urban horticulture agent, will provide information on growing food in containers. For more information, call 342-1640.
Field tours offered
Yuma Visitors Bureau offers Field to Feast agriculture tours Jan. 18, 19, 25 and 26 (other dates: Feb. 1, 2, 8, 8, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and March 1). These trips include picking produce that's transformed into gourmet lunch by Arizona Western College culinary students while participants enjoy a food safety lesson and a narrated coach ride through Yuma's verdant vegetable fields.
For those with a background in agriculture, a special Farmer to Farmer “technical” tour will be held Jan. 10 (also Feb. 14). And if you'd rather explore our border cuisine at the table, the new Taco Trail progressive dinner tours are Jan. 6 and 20 (also Feb. 3 and 17, March 2 and 16).
