Greer 50th Wedding Anniversary
Gary and Janice Greer of Yuma celebrated their 50th anniversary on Wednesday, December 28 and will have a party in Yuma celebrating this anniversary on January 21, 2012. They were married in the Mesa AZ temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on December 28th, 1961.
Born in September of 1938, Gary graduated from Yuma High School and ASU with a degree in accounting. He worked for Firestone Tires and then came back to Yuma to own and run Farley’s Hardware. He also worked for the postal service.
Born in December of 1942, Janice also graduated from Yuma High School and attended BYU. She dedicated her life to raising five wonderful children and found time to start and run her own sewing / alterations business, Stylish Stitches.
They both enjoy gardening and keeping their roses looking beautiful. They continue to provide service to Janice’s mother, Berdine Farley, also of Yuma, as she enjoys her elder years.
Their children and spouses are Greg and Kathy Greer, Lehi, UT; Laurie Brown, Peoria, AZ; Suzanne and Mark Cox, Gilbert, AZ; Julie and Nathan Baker, Gilbert, AZ; Patricia and Robert Lant, Mapleton, UT. They have 18 grandchildren.
