Jet Rent feeds need for speed on water or sand
Don't tell Veronica and Mark Frandsen that there is nothing to do in Yuma in the summer.
Both Mark and Veronica were born and raised in Yuma. About 15 years ago, Mark started Jet Rent Yuma, renting outdoor toys to visitors and locals.
About five years ago, Veronica joined the business after she and Mark married. She began looking for better ways to market Jet Rent Yuma and soon discovered that digital marketing was the way to go.
Veronica is currently working on her certification in search engine optimization and is very excited about the analytical data available to help her market the business. With 90 percent of their business coming from people visiting the Yuma area, Veronica can get her message out worldwide.
Jet Rent has thrill-seeking customers from British Columbia, New Zealand and the Netherlands. Veronica said that her greatest compliment came from a German tourist who came to Yuma during the summer to ride in the dunes west of Yuma. When she inquired about why he came to Yuma, he told her his son saw a photo on her website and said, “I want to go there.”
And so they did and really enjoyed the experience.
Veronica believes that Yuma gets so much international attention because “it is one of the best places to get back to nature.” She cited the Barry M. Goldwater Range, Imperial Sand Dunes and Picacho Park as great places to commune with nature.
Rent ATVs or UTVs (utility terrain vehicles, like dune buggies) for your entire group. Jet Rent has the ability to handle large groups of up to 42 at a time in vehicles that seat one to four passengers for a wild ride in the dunes or a leisurely trek through the desert and washes. If you're thinking you would like to go, but don't have a vehicle to tow a trailer, don't worry. They will rent you that, too, as well as all the safety equipment necessary for a fun day exploring the Yuma area.
Personal watercraft, kayaks, a pontoon boat — these are some of the rentals available for a day on the river or lake. The pontoon boat holds seven passengers and you can rent two- or three-seat jet skis. Jet Rents currently has one-person kayaks, but will soon have two-person kayaks as well as power boats and paddle boats
No matter how you want to explore the Colorado River, Jet Rent wants to make it possible for you.
Where to Ride
If you aren't sure where to ride, Jet Rent staff will make recommendations based on your skill level and penchant for adventure. Guided tours may be added at a later date. Reservations are recommended, but if the equipment is available, Jet Rent will have you out the door and on your adventure within an hour.
Veronica admitted to being one of those people who used to think there was nothing to do in Yuma. But not anymore. She said that once she began spending more time on the river, she really began to enjoy the summer in Yuma.
Regulars to the river would agree, as many people travel to Yuma in the summer to soak up all that Yuma has to offer. Yumans know that that seeking out water fun is the best way to enjoy a Yuma summer, and if you need the equipment to do it, get in touch with Veronica or Mark and they will be glad to help you out.
You can find Jet Rent on Facebook, Twitter and on the web. Jet Rent Yuma takes phone calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Reservations can be made on the website or via the telephone. The new website that is currently under construction is www.jet-rent.com.
