Car hits Yuma City Hall

A driver who might have been suffering from a health issue crashed his car into Yuma City Hall Wednesday morning.

According to the city of Yuma, the driver, a 60-year-old man from Washington, was traveling westbound on Giss Parkway not long before 10 a.m. when he veered off the road and struck City Hall with his blue Hyundai Santa Fe.

There was minimal damage to the exterior of the building, and the man was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center for precautionary reasons.

The initial investigation revealed a health-related issue as the possible cause of the collision.

The Yuma Police Department asks anyone who witnessed the collision to call civilian investigator Mary Zavala at 373-4700.
