Should change team's name

“Desert Rats” is the stupidest sounding team nickname for our new ball club that I've ever heard. Couldn't the organization have done better?

First off, a rat is not an honorable animal and I think represents a poor image of the team and Yuma.

If anything, get the new owner to change it to “Scorchers” ... that has power and class, but please, not a rat.

If they change the name to Scorchers then you can use the Desert Rat as your mascot.

I also think someone should open up further discussion on this to the general public. I think that anyone who has played baseball, and I have played considerable ball, would rather play as a Scorcher than a Rat!
