Yuma's streets now improved
My wife and I spent our first winter in Yuma in 1991 when the streets and avenues were still mostly patched over old trails and byways. We have watched with admiration as some pretty forward-thinking people in the Yuma planning and street departments rebuilt Yuma into a thoroughly modern town.
Avenues A and B and 24th and 32nd streets have been completely rebuilt. Major intersections such as 32nd Street and Araby Road and 24th Street and Avenue A have been rebuilt. I need to use the phrase “too numerous to mention” in here somewhere.
There are a few more trouble spots yet to be redone, for example 16th Street and 4th Avenue, but what we've seen in the last 20 years is a nearly complete transformation of our street system in Yuma.
Those responsible for this work should be recognized and commended. Thank you for using my tax money wisely.
