Warning shots fired at alleged intruders

A Yuma man chased two alleged intruders away from his home with warning shots early Sunday.

According to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, the two men had forced their way into a home on the 2300 block of East 15th Street at about 3:18 a.m. Sunday. The resident encountered the pair, who had reportedly broken in through a window, and the two suspects ran out the front door. The resident followed, armed with a gun, and fired several warning shots into the ground as the two fled.

Deputies found the two suspects hiding outside of a nearby apartment complex and took them into custody.

Rigoberto Quiroga, 26, and Jesus Arbizo, 28, both of Yuma, were booked into the Yuma County Detention Center on charges of criminal trespassing and burglary.
