Yuma's Best 2012: Stanley Steemer Carpet Cleaner

Anthony Cornett recently marked 30 years.

The occasion wasn't his birthday. It's how many years of experience he brings to his job as owner of the Stanley Steemer carpet cleaning franchise that serves Yuma and Imperial counties.

The Cornetts' Stanley Steemer franchise tied with A-1 Fire & Flood Restoration for first-place honors in the category of Best Carpet Cleaning for 2012 in Yuma's Best, the Yuma Sun's annual poll of readers' favorite businesses.

Besides carpets, the franchise cleans tile, grout, upholstery and other surfaces. It also cleans the interiors of automobiles and recreational vehicles, Cornett said, and even has contracts to clean inside airplanes at Yuma International Airport.

Cornett added that the Yuma franchise makes use of the latest carpet cleaning technology developed by Stanley Steemer, a nationwide cleaning company.

Cornett got his start in the carpet cleaning business in 1982, and worked his way up the ladder until he and wife purchased their franchise in 2007. They are a previous Yuma's Best winner in the category of Best Carpet Cleaning.

The Cornetts employ two technicians to clean clients' homes and businesses.
