News, whether print or digital, part of our daily lives
Since 1872, a newspaper has been chronicling the history of Yuma, then known as Arizona City. For 141 years, probably longer than any other business, the newspaper has served the community, offering the printed page for making countless scrapbooks for several generations of Yumans.
While times have changed, this has remained constant. Births, weddings, obituaries; high school sports and activity stories and photos; features about the Yumans who made history then and now. We’ve adapted and changed throughout our history, but our mission has remained the same. If you want to know what’s going on in Yuma County, read the Yuma Sun.
We’re celebrating National Newspaper Week with the promise that the printed newspaper will be around for many years to come, and while you can print the stories and photos from our website, it’s just not quite the same as that faded newsprint hanging on your refrigerator or pasted into the pages of your scrapbook.
