A nationwide shortage of test kits for tuberculosis means Yuma County will suspend its routine testing for the disease.
Because of the national shortage of Tubersol PPD, the Yuma County Public Health District will prioritize skin testing for tuberculosis (TB) according to the highest public health impact. High priority includes:
• Contacts to a case with pulmonary or laryngeal TB.
• Evaluation of people with symptoms suggestive of TB.
• People with HIV or compromised immune systems.
• People arriving within the past year from countries that have a high incidence of TB.
Contact the Yuma County TB Control program at 317-4585 with any questions.
