SOMERTON — Businesses in this city and in the area will be able to show off their products and services and make contacts April 20 during the second annual Somerton Business Expo.
The Somerton Chamber of Commerce and the city of Somerton are organizing the event as way to help businesses promote themselves to the public and to network with one another.
This year's expo will take place in the gymnasium at Somerton Middle School, 1011 Somerton Ave., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the chamber is still accepting reservations from businesses that want to have displays in the event.
The event is open to the public and admission is free.
“We have very high expectations for this year's expo,” said Shaun Cassidy, the Somerton chamber's executive director and economic development coordinator for the city. “And I think we will achieve them. We've already had confirmations from 13 businesses that are going to participate.”
Among the participants this year, he said, will be the Better Business Bureau, which will be offering information about how businesses can promote consumer confidence in their products and services.
The marketing firm that serves the Marine Corps Air Station Yuma will also attend, providing information about opportunities for businesses to supply goods or services to the base.
Businesses and agencies wishing to make reservations to take part in the expo can contact Cassidy at 502-9165 or by e-mail at ShaunC@cityofsomerton.com.
