Baseball is weird.
Baseball can get weird in ways that other sports can't even dream of.
Last night I got home from work at about 10, then went to the gym and did some grocery shopping before returning home at about 12:30 a.m.
I then get a text from my brother.
“Are you watching this?” it read.
I flipped on my MLB.TV account (God's greatest invention) and started tuning in to the marathon Angels-Athletics game.
Unfortunately, besides the 6½-hour game length, there weren't many other weird phenomena. The A's had to give up their DH, which forced A's reliever Jerry Blevins to hit, but other than that it was just a really long game.
I was hoping to see my favorite thing in all of sports: a position player pitching. There is nothing as satisfying as watching a guy try to break over curve balls against the best hitters in the world.
Either way, it was fun to be a part of history, and I'm glad my sleep schedule allowed it.
