While conducting a routine business check in the 500 block of Archibald Street at about 10 p.m. Saturday, a San Luis police officer's K9 narcotics dog alerted to the presence of drugs inside a parked vehicle.
According to Sgt. Ernesto Lugo of the public affairs unit, the K9's alert gave officers probable cause to obtain a search warrant. Officers found several packages containing nearly 13 pounds of methamphetamine.
The drugs had an estimated street value of more than $120,000.
During their investigation, officers located the alleged driver of the vehicle, a man identified as Gustavo Delgado Rincon, 19, of San Luis Rio Colorado, Son. He was arrested and booked into the Yuma County jail on felony charges of possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a dangerous drug for sale, transportation of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
