Too often we find our lives in disorder, our relationships strained, our jobs overwhelming, or our thinking confused. At such times, it is difficult to realize that we have the power to change circumstances by altering our perceptions and deciding on a more attractive outcome. It is not easy to admit that we may have had a hand in creating the chaos we are experiencing, but neither is it difficult to take a different route. It must, however, begin within our own minds and hearts, and we do have the privilege of accepting responsibility for the present play of consciousness we are experiencing.
Since everything begins with a thought, an emotion, or a deeply-held belief, we begin by looking within ourselves, rather than attempting to fix blame on any person, event or entity. I do not have control over the externals, but I am in charge of my own mind. I am able to connect with a Divine Power greater than I am that has the ability to show me a better way, as I choose to place my metaphorical feet upon a clearer path. This is called, “Grace,” and it is always available to us, no matter how challenging circumstances may appear. It offers an open invitation that must be received into our hearts before becoming active in our lives.
Surrendering the problem to Infinite Wisdom is a wonderful place to begin. As the Master Teacher, Jesus, expressed, “I, of myself, can do nothing,” yet the miracles he performed proved that God, working through him, could do anything. Letting go of the angst that accompanies the inability to remove ourselves from the chaos of human conditions opens us up to solutions we may never have considered on our own. Allowing Grace to lift us above conditions, we are then able to choose higher thoughts, calmer emotions, and more positive beliefs.
If you are experiencing any disorder in your life, feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, or at the mercy of chaos or confusion, simply let it go and invite a Power greater than you are to lead you serenely to solutions you haven't yet met. Choose Grace today, and you will find that, with God, all things truly are possible.
