The Yuma Community Foundation is asking the community to submit nominations for the Heart of Yuma awards, which will be presented in late October.
Nominations may be made in the following categories:
* Outstanding Volunteer
* Outstanding Leader
* Outstanding Benefactor
* Outstanding For Profit Corporation
* Outstanding Nonprofit Organization
Nominees in the For Profit category should be companies that have demonstrated a history of generosity and/or leadership benefiting Yuma-area nonprofit organizations.
Nominees in the Nonprofit category should be organizations that have a strong history of improving the quality of life in Yuma County.
People making nominations are asked to briefly describe the nominee's scope of commitment (involvement, time or monetary support) and how the nominee has demonstrated leadership, initiative, and other characteristics deserving of the award. Digital photos should be included when possible.
Rules bar people from submitting more than one nomination per category or more than three nominations overall.
Nominations are due by Tuesday, Sept. 17.
