When Yuma Ballet Theatre (YBT) dancers present "Mother Goose and Fairytales" Saturday, it will be a "first" production at the Gila Ridge High School Auditorium, 7150 E. 24th St.

Erika Romanyuk, owner of YBT, said, "In addition to the Mother Goose with such characters as Rub-a-Dub Dub, there will be renditions of Three Blind Mice and more children's favorites."

A special performance of Swan Lake Act II, will be danced by David Arce and Romanyuk.

Arce has been with the Corps de Ballet in the San Francisco Ballet since 1999.

Arce trained with Ballet Yuma's Jon Cristofori and Kathy Sinclair before going to the San Francisco Ballet. He was named apprentice in 1998.

Curtain time will be 5 p.m. Saturday for the YBT production.

Tickets are $5 for general admission, and available at the YBT studio, Suite D-7, or at The Ark Bookstore, both in the Southgate Mall. For information, call 341-1925, or visit www.yumaballet.org.

David Campbell, district auditorium management facilitator, said, "This will be the first ballet in the auditorium. We did have a gospel quartet in February.
