LeAnn Rimes to sing at Yuma fundraiser

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

LeAnn Rimes, noted vocalist since she was 11, will be guest artist for the annual Yuma Regional Medical Center Foundation's dinner-dance Saturday.

She co-wrote all selections in her newest album, "Family," released a year ago.

Rimes has won two Grammy awards and the first Best New Artist accolade ever won by a country artist.

Her "Can't Fight the Moonlight" was a No. 1 song in 11 countries, and "How Do I Live" was the longest-running single ever on the Billboard Hot  100, spending 69 weeks on the chart.

She has matured from the little girl with a big voice to a mature woman, married to Dean Sheremet for five years.

The dinner-dance fundraiser will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Yuma County Fairgrounds.

Tickets are $60 each. Proceeds will benefit the YRMC School Health Care program for children in Yuma County.

  Call 336-7005 for ticket availability.

This year's fundraiser is co-sponsored by Alexander Motor Center, KYMA and YRMC Foundation.
