Scaggs, McDonald to perform at the Q
Boz Scaggs and Michael McDonald, two icons of classic rock music, are bringing their famous sound to Yuma.
The two legends will appear in concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Quechan Casino Resort's Pipa Event Center.
Scaggs is famous for the mid-’70s album "Silk Degrees," which spawned the hit singles "Lowdown," "Lido Shuffle" and "What Can I Say."
McDonald is well known for working with the Doobie Brothers on hit songs "Takin' It to the Streets," "Little Darling," "It Keeps You Runnin'," "Minute by Minute" and "What a Fool Believes," the last of which scored him a 1978 Grammy Award for Song of the Year.
McDonald will open the show before taking a short break. Then Scaggs will take the stage for his set before being joined by McDonald for the finale.
Tickets at $59, $49 or $39 can be purchased by calling the Pipa Event Center Box Office at 1-760-572-1621. Attendees must be 21 or older.
Special rates are being offered at the hotel for those who want to stay after the show. For more information or to make reservations, call 1-877-783-2426.
"It's great music, they are classics in the world of rock," said David Julian, executive director of marketing. "These guys made some of the greatest music of the ’70s and ’80s, so why wouldn't you want to come to the show? We expect a great crowd."
