Streisand, Sinatra song stylings in Yuma

February 11, 2008 - 10:46 PM

For fans of Barbra Streisand and the late Frank Sinatra, Yuma audiences have opportunity to hear a "Concert that Never Was" presented at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Historic Yuma Theatre, 254 S. Main St.

Sharon Owens, who not only looks like Barbra but sings like her, will be on stage with Sebastian Anzaldo, who grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Omaha, Neb., listening to records by Sinatra.

The pre-show video has trivia on the two 20th-century singers who never toured together but did record a duet of "I've Got a Crush on You" in 1993.

Selections by "Barbra" include "People," "Evergreen" and "Woman in Love."

The Sinatra numbers are "Come Fly with Me," "Fly Me to the Moon," "My Way" and "That's Life."

Duets will be "Somewhere" from "West Side Story," "It was a Very Good Year" and "The Way We Were."

Tickets are $18, available at the Yuma Art Center or the Yuma Civic Center. The show is part of the Performing Artist Series, sponsored by the Art Center and Heritage Festivals.
