Yuma agent graduates from Defense University
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Carla Provost, the assistant chief patrol agent of the Border Patrol's Yuma Sector, has graduated from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C.
Provost graduated June 12 with a master's degree in national resource strategy. The major areas of focus were national security studies, military strategy and logistics and strategic leadership.
She had previously earned her bachelor's degree in sociology and criminal justice from Kansas State University in May 1992.
She could not be reached for comment by The Sun.
Provost began her career with the Border Patrol in January 1995, in Douglas, Ariz. While assigned to the Douglas station, she was promoted to supervisory Border Patrol agent and later to field operations supervisor.
During her tenure as a supervisory Border Patrol agent and fields operation supervisor, she oversaw all of the specialty units such as the Field Training Unit, Bike Patrol Unit and Interior Repatriation Program.
While serving as a field operations supervisor at Douglas Station, Provost completed detail assignments to the Office of Border Patrol Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
When Provost was assigned to headquarters, she maintained the national oversight of the Interior Repatriation Program.
Additionally, she also worked in the Office of Policy and Planning coordinating with the Office of Internal Affairs and the General Accounting Office on Customs and Border Protection audits.
In March 2006, Provost was promoted to Yuma Sector as assistant chief patrol agent. As one of the highest-ranking agents in the Yuma Sector, she assists the chief patrol agent and deputy chief patrol agent in directing the enforcement efforts of nearly 870 Border Patrol agents.
