Correction: Definition of supermajority
Thursday's article, “Supervisors appoint new health director,” incorrectly stated that every landowner seeking a special use permit for their property required a supermajority vote from the Yuma County Board of Supervisors for approval.
It should have stated that a supermajority vote on a special permit is required only “if 20 percent of the owners of property by area and number (within 300 feet) of the zoning area file a protest to the proposed rezoning,” according to Arizona Revised Statute 11-814E.
