YCSO seeking suspect in woman's assault
The Yuma County Sheriff's Office is seeking a man in connection with an assault that sent a woman to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
The man, Dylan Escalanti, is described as being in his 30s.
He has very distinguishable tattoos above his eyebrows.
According to YCSO, at about 2:21 p.m. an assault in progress at 2555 W. 4th Place, Apartment #1, was reported to 911.
“When my officers got here they found a female victim in her early 30s,” said YCSO Sgt. A. Whitney.
“She had been assaulted to the point where she needed medical attention. Rural/Metro came and transported her to Yuma Regional Medical Center.”
While severely beaten, the victim was “awake and talking to detectives” Tuesday evening, Whitney added.
Deputies were able to obtain a search warrant for the apartment where the assault took place, and were gathering evidence and taking pictures as the sun went down. The area around the apartment was cordoned off with yellow crime-scene tape, and closed to traffic during the investigation.
YCSO encourages anyone with any information about the incident, or knowledge of where Escalanti can be found, to call them at 783-4427 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous.
