Road cracks to be sealed

City of Yuma asphalt maintenance crews will conduct crack seal operations on the following locations during the week of Aug. 2-6:

• 24th Street from Avenue A to Avenue B

• 8th Avenue from 16th Street to 24th Street.

• 19th Street from Avenue A to 4th Avenue

• 20th Street from Avenue A to 4th Avenue

• Giss Parkway from 4th Avenue to 1st Avenue

• Carver Area

• Fire Station No. 4

During that time, lane restrictions and lane closures will be in effect.

According to Greg Hyland, city of Yuma spokesman, crack seal operations are important for maintaining Yuma's roadways.

“It extends the life of the streets,” Hyland said, noting that crack seal keeps water and debris from causing damage.
