AWC/NAU open house for prospective students
Arizona Western College and Northern Arizona University-Yuma will host an open house for anybody interested in higher education, says a school official.
The open house takes place on July 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Entrepreneurial Center, 1351 S. Redondo Center Drive. No pre-registration is required and drop-ins are welcome.
It is an informational session for the community to find opportunities at AWC and NAU-Yuma, and it is not necessary for potential students to be going for a degree program, said Mandy Heil, AWC admissions, recruitment and outreach coordinator.
Heil, along with staff from AWC/NAU-Yuma enrollment and financial service staffs, will be speaking, while staff from career development is planned but not yet confirmed. They will discuss the process of becoming enrolled, she noted.
"This is for people who question whether or not they want to go to college or people who know they want to return but need guidance through the process.
"There's no obligation to commit to enrollment. It's an informational event and for anyone who wants to take a personal enrichment course at AWC; I can't speak for NAU."
Presenters will entertain questions from the audience and are willing to stay after the scheduled session to meet informally with interested candidates. Light refreshments are planned. For more information, call 317-6084.
