Water balloon ‘FUN-raiser'
Arizona Western College's Gay Straight Alliance for Equality Club is hosting a “FUN-raiser” on Monday.
A water balloon fight will be held at 4 p.m. outside the amphitheater on the main campus in celebration of National Ally Week.
The free event is meant to allow AWC with students across the country to identify, support and celebrate Allies against anti-LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) language, bullying and harassment in America's schools.

Cibola and AWC jazz ensembles in concert
The AWC and Cibola High School jazz ensembles will team up for a joint concert Wednesday.
The free public event will begin at 7 p.m. at Cibola High School Auditorium, 4100 W. 20th St. in Yuma.
The performance will include tunes like “Boplicity” by Miles Davis, “Out of Nowhere” from the 1931 movie “Dude Ranch” and the salsa tune “El Final del Verano.”

Community Band fall concert
A wide variety of concert band music will be featured at the AWC Community Band fall concert Nov. 5.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 7 p.m. at Gila Ridge High School Auditorium, 7150 E. 24th St..
Pieces to be played include the overture to the opera “II Guarany,” the circus march “In Storm and Sunshine” and a concert piece by jazz composer Sammy Nestico called “A Change of Pace.”

AWC Majors Fair on Nov. 7
For those interested in finding out what they would like their academic focus to be, AWC is holding a Majors Fair on Nov. 7.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Schoening Conference Center on the main campus at 2020 S. Avenue 8E.
Students will receive information about choosing a major, how to achieve academic success and complete their degree or certificate in a timely manner.

Yuma High, AWC jazz ensembles
Yuma High School and the AWC jazz ensembles are joining to perform their annual concert Nov. 16.
The free event open to the public will be held at 7 p.m. at the YHS Auditorium, 400 S. 6th Ave.
